Apple Oats Smoothie

A sweet drink for someone who doesn't like plain oats. You can substitute sugar with honey to make it more healthy. Drink soon after you make it otherwise it'll turn lightly brown because of the apple. Still the taste is nice.

Ingredients
  • Apple - 1
  • Oats - 1 tbsp
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom - 3
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup

Method
  • Wash, peel and core your apple. Slice it.
  • Cook oats in 1/2 cup water (I used Quaker oats)
  • In a blender add sliced apple, cooked oats (cooled), cardamom seeds, sugar and milk. Blend well.
  • Pour into a tall glass and enjoy.

  • Condensed Milk - 1/2 tin

Method
  • Put both ingredients in blender and blend well.
  • Pour the mix in ice cube tray and put in freezer

Strawberry Milkshake

A very simple comforting drink which was a result of uncontrollable love for strawberries. We don't get great strawberries here, still grabbed a small packet which I saw in super market. Didn't want to keep it in fridge longer, so made quick milkshake and got applauses from my little one too.

You need
  • Strawberries - 3 small
  • Chilled water - 1/4 cup
  • Chilled milk - 1 cup
  • Honey - 1 tbsp

Method
  • Blend all ingredients in a blender.
  • Serve chilled.

Sharjah Shake

Sharjah shake was one drink which my friends used to have regularly during college days. I didn't like it much then as they used milk cubes. It was so chilly that I couldn't handle it much. So when I started making it myself I use chilled milk instead of the frozen milk cubes. That is how my family also likes and we enjoy it almost often due to the heat here. And the best part is that I've no idea why this is called a Sharjah shake. :) The below ingredients together serves one.

You need

  • Banana - 1 small
  • Chilled milk/Frozen milk cubes - 1 cup
  • Almonds/Cashews- 5
  • Cocoa powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp

Method

  • Blend all the ingredients together in a blender. Serve chilled

Carrot Kiwi Juice

Two days back I read kiwi is a heart loving fruit, so suddenly fell in love with it and bought 4. But then juice was tangy, loved it but not always. It was my husband's idea to add carrot and apple. He was right, it tasted very nice. I'm a bad photographer and can convince you all only with this snap :(. It is always a tom and jerry show here when I've to take snaps. My little one runs around me to dip his finger in the glass or plate I put up for the snap. So have to take it as quick as I can. :)

Ingredients
  • Carrot - 1 medium .
  • Kiwi - 1
  • Apple - 1/2 of 1
  • Sugar- 2 tsp
  • Chilled water - 1 cup

Method
  • Chop carrot, kiwi, apple and blend in a blender adding chilled water and sugar.
  • Serves 2
